Last Saturday, I posted this drawing by Alazar
.
A short time later it was made a favorite by girlfriends and then by . I thanked them each and also not-so-subtly suggested that it'd be neat to see the two of them recreate the image using themselves in the roles of Alazar's ladies. Well, they rose to the occasion and knocked the ball out of the park. Check out the beautiful image Donna and Etherea created at

The Results of Secret Santa 2023!
SOOOOO Many participants and gifts given this year! It was great seeing them all. Here is a list of all the participants and the gifts (in some cases multiple gifts) they gave as a Secret Santa this year. Thanks to everyone who participated! Secret Santa 2022: The Results!
There were 37 people participating in this year's Secret Santa which was organized by @Dangerguy01 , @member9 and me. And, happily, all 37 people received gifts from their Secret Santa. Some people have not posted their gifts and it is also possible I missed seeing them if they were posted, but below (in no particular order) are the gifts I did learn about or see once they were posted. (Some Secret Santas also created more than one gift for their recipient, but, in those instances, I've only linked to the first gift I saw/learned about.) If anyone posts or has posted their Secret Santa 2022 gift and it does not appear in this Journal, send me the link and I will try to add it :) Thanks to everyone who participated this year! Happy holidays!!!

If you read my earlier status posts, you know I underwent neck surgery on November 5 and that my medical insurance company was less than helpful FOUR hours before the scheduled time of the surgery. Here's what happened. After a doctor you trust reads an MRI report in early October and says that unless you have surgery within 4 to 6 months, you risk losing the use of your right arm and hand permanently, you tend to take that warning seriously. By October 14, I had consulted with two surgeons and I chose one on October 15 to perform the surgery. By October 18, I knew the surgery was happening on November 5 at noon. This was not my surgeon's first rodeo, so I also knew all the paperwork was timely submitted to the insurance company for approval and that arrangements had been made for getting an OR scheduled at the hospital and for a co-surgeon. All I had to do was take care of lots of pre-op tests and exams and show up on November 5 by 10 AM. It was a very stressful few weeks leading up
